Food valence is innately determined, but we focus on how dietary experiences can alter it. We conduct neuroscientific research to understand the mechanisms for the regulation of food valence based on eating experiences, and how eating behaviors are psychologically controlled based on food valence. We are also advancing research to understand the mechanisms by which nutrients regulate brain function, mechanisms for the regulation of memory, and the development of methods to improve brain disorders.
