Bamboo possesses a unique life history, flowering only once every several decades. I am conducting research to elucidate the genetic mechanisms underlying this periodic flowering. Furthermore, in recent years, bamboo utilization has declined, leading to the problem of abandoned bamboo forests. By studying bamboo ecology, including its rhizomes, I aim to contribute to suppressing the expansion of bamboo forests.
