Early childhood education and care is attracting attention as one of the measures to address the declining fertility. However, early childhood education and care is not only a support for parents raising children and balancing work and family life, but also a place for welfare and education that ensures children's wellbeing and development. This session will examine the "multiple perspectives" on early childhood education and care that may be overlooked in the discourse on declining fertility, and the challenges ahead based on these perspectives.
