Cellulose nanofiber is a new, naturally derived material, which is considered to be one fifth lighter and five times stronger than steel. It is made out of cellulose, the main constituent of woods. Human beings have utilized cellulose as an important material for a long time. However, it is urgently needed today to use cellulose in advanced forms, as our everyday life is largely dependent on the fossil resources such as oil, which is being run out. To satisfy this need is an important task of agricultural sciences.
