This workshop surveys three key components of learning-oriented assessment: (a) sharing learning expectations, (b) eliciting and interpreting evidence of learning, and (c) providing meaningful feedback. In this workshop, participants will be exposed to various examples of assessment activities, analyze them for advantages and disadvantages, and reflect on their own uses of assessment. The workshop also addresses the oft-ignored question: Who does assessment?
