Steak, ham, milk, cheese, eggs... Livestock products are symbols of richness for some people. Moreover, milk products, especially, are important for child health. However, livestock industry is problematic, considering the global food shortage. For raising beef, cow, and swine requires a huge amount of crop. Sustainability is needed. Prof. Maeda considers this and other problems concerning livestock industry, and discusses what agricultural scholars can do for the future of the stockbreeding.
