In the last session, specific examples of crisis response from the on-site operational perspectives, practical crisis consciousness and local risk management were discussed. To start off the session, three panelists conducted fifteen-minute presentation for each. Mr. Hiruma focused on the definition of “risk”, followed by Mr. Asano addressing weaknesses and challenges of Japan’s “governance” at a crisis from the perspectives of the government. Lastly, Mr. Shiozaki stated the importance of role of “leadership” at the time of crisis.
