Japan is one of the top producers of rare metals in the world. In the future too, Japan, as a major rare metals producer and technological superpower, will continue to lead the world in this sector. In this lecture, we will describe issues related to how Japan will aim to contribute to wealthy mature societies and issues recently facing rare metals.
